ingenit awards another DOMO scholarship
Supporting young talent is the sustainable way to address the shortage of IT professionals. That is why, for the eighth time, we are supporting an IT student at FH Dortmund or TU Dortmund – offering not only financial support but also the opportunity to combine theory and practice.
Supporting young talent is the sustainable way to address the shortage of IT professionals. That is why, for the eighth time, we are supporting an IT student at FH Dortmund or TU Dortmund – offering not only financial support but also the opportunity to combine theory and practice.
The Dortmund SME scholarship model (DOMO, “Dortmunder Modell Mittelstands-Stipendien”) is an initiative in which mid-sized companies in the region award scholarships to computer science students. Applicants must be enrolled in an IT degree program, in at least their third semester, at one of the two universities mentioned. Qualified students receive financial support of €1,500 as well as the opportunity to get to know regional companies as potential employers and to gain practical experience.
A preselected group of applicants introduces themselves to the companies in small groups during speed dates. The companies, in turn, present themselves, their products and/or services and career opportunities to the students. As with any speed dating, there is only a chance of a match if both sides are convinced. Afterwards, both parties meet and explore how they can work together beyond the financial connection.
Over the past years, we have repeatedly been able to hire outstandingly qualified working students, some of whom are still part of our team. Developments like these make us want more and show that it pays to support and encourage young talent while they are still studying. We encourage Dortmund companies to take part as sponsors and IT students to apply. The application deadline is February 24, 2026. Details and contact information are available on the website of the Unternehmensverbände in Dortmund und Umgebung (employers’ associations in Dortmund and the surrounding area), which organize the project.
