Our rules for using AI

AI makes our developers significantly faster – but only under clear conditions. Five rules we have set for ourselves: short, verifiable and binding. Written for procurement, data protection and IT security.

01

Local operation by default

By default, all AI models we use in your project run in our own multiply redundant data center in Dortmund – or on-premise at your site. Source code, data models, interfaces and functional specifications never leave our building. Nothing goes to an external AI service without your explicit consent.

02

Frontier models only at your request

For some tasks, models from OpenAI, Anthropic or Mistral are the better choice. We use them if you explicitly ask us to – agreed per project, with a data processing agreement and terms that rule out training on your data. Together, we decide which data may leave the building.

03

Your code won't become training material

Your source code, your data structures and your functional specifications are not training material – neither for us nor for third parties. We do not train models on client projects, and nothing from your project later flows into other projects. And because we can run local models ourselves at any time, no external provider can make us dependent.

04

With AI, not just by AI

AI doesn't replace engineering – it accelerates it. AI agents deliver a first draft and take on routine work such as test coverage and technical documentation. Our developers steer them and keep writing code themselves so their skills don't erode. Every line goes through code review, static analysis, automated tests and accountable approval by people with a computer science degree. Responsibility stays with us.

05

Transparency – or no AI, if you prefer

On request, we document where and how AI was used in your project – including model, operating location, purpose and review process. Or we don't use it in your project at all. The decision is yours.

Your code stays your code.

Not a slogan but everyday practice: our own operating environment, experienced people, a fixed review process and clear accountability – summed up in five rules.

The infrastructure behind it

Our own data center. In Dortmund. Since 2004.

Our data center is not a side business: we have been running our own systems and those of our clients there since 2004 – and our AI models now run on exactly this infrastructure, too.

That's why, for us, local is not a promise on paper but the default setting. External models only come into play if you explicitly commission them.

Run AI in-house?

If your AI-powered application should run entirely on your premises, we set up local models on your infrastructure and support them. And we'll tell you openly if AI isn't worth it for your use case.
