From July 15 to 21, 2025, the world’s largest competition for autonomous robotic systems took place in Salvador, Brazil – RoboCup. With more than 250 teams from 37 countries and around 130,000 visitors, the event showcased not only innovative technology but also gave robotics research international visibility.

TU Dortmund was once again represented by its student team “Nao Devils,” which competed in the Standard Platform League (SPL). In a strong field, the team reached the quarterfinals and also impressed with its scientific contributions: five papers were accepted at the accompanying RoboCup Symposium – a clear sign of the quality of research at the intersection of computer science, AI and robotics.

RoboCup sees itself as an international platform for advancing technology and scientific exchange – especially for students and young researchers. In this spirit, we are pleased to have supported the participation of the “Nao Devils” as a sponsor. Our involvement is part of our long-term commitment to fostering young IT talent and applied research.

The next RoboCup will take place in 2026 in Incheon, South Korea. We wish the TU Dortmund team “Nao Devils” continued success and are proud to contribute to training tomorrow’s skilled professionals. You can find impressions of the event directly from the “Nao Devils.”
